Day 1: Arrival - Hanoi

Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, Viet Bamboo Travel's guide and driver will pick you up and transfer to hotel for check in.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour - Lao Cai (B, L) - by night train

You are met at 08:30 am in the hotel lobby. There is a morning and afternoon schedule, as well as an organised lunch. Morning:
Ho Chi Minh Complex including the Mausoleum, his former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh Museum
The Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070
A local Vietnamese lunch
Museum of Ethnology, widely acknowledged as the best in the country, containing an extensive display of life-size structures dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority peoples

Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake - the Ngoc Son Temple is set on a tiny island on Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century
A one-hour cyclo tour through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi!

Please note: the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed all day on Monday and Fridays, as well as from 1st October to 30th November (approx.) for annual conservation.
After dinner, our guide will transfer you to the station for the night train to Lao Cai.

Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai (B, L)

Arrive Lao Cai, pick up at Lao Cai Station by bus then transfer to Sapa. Have breakfast then walk around Sapa until noon, check in hotel. After lunch trek to Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages of Black H'mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way. Back to hotel to enjoy the night in Sapa town.

Day 4: Sapa - Tram Ton - 2800m (B, L, D)

You are having a couple of interesting days waiting ahead. You travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch. With new energy you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. You will arrive to the campsite at 2800m ASL in the late afternoon. Relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.

Day 5: 2800m - the top of Fansipan - Tram Ton - Sapa (B, L)

After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then trek through rainforest to go back to the campsite for lunch.After lunch, you start your journey back. You follow the trail as well as stone steeps built by Hoang Lien National Park until you meet your car, which is there to take you back to Sapa. In the afternoon you will arrive back in Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 6: Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Lao Cai - Hanoi (B, L) - by night train

After breakfast we leave the hotel and start trekking. The first part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigio blue clothing. After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green color. The Zay houses are build of wood and bamboo with a clay floor. Then transfer to Lao Cai station for the night train back to Hanoi.

Day 7: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)

05:00 Arrive in Hanoi. You can walk to the Mango hotel (next to the rail station - getway A). Check in have breakfast and relax for some hours.
08:00 - 08:30 Pick up at hotel for three and a half hours road trip with short refreshment on half way to Halong Bay.
12:00 Arrive at Bai Chay Wharf
12:15 Transfer by tender to the Marguerite Junk boat - enjoy Welcome Drink. Receive Junk Facilities and Cruise Instruction as well as Cruise Briefing before check in to cabins and begin cruise Off the Beaten Track.
13:00 Lunch - deluxe Vietnamese Set Menu.
15:00 Arrive at the Surprise Cave area. Transfer by tender to the Surprise Cave. Walk up the 100 steps to the entrance of the cave and tour on foot for approximately 45 minutes.
16:00 Return to the boat. Enjoy kayaking program to the nearby Cave, lagoon and surrounding waters as well as exploring the daily life of the local people in floating village
17:00 Enjoy swimming or relaxing on board.
18:30 Take part in our cooking class with crispy spring rolls
19:30 Dinner - deluxe Vietnamese Set Menu Dinner.
20:30 Evening activities include: film entertainment in the dining room, board games and playing cards are available, squid fishing from the boat with our crew.
23:00 End of program for Day One.

Day 8: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue (B, L) - by flight

07:00 Coffee, tea and light breakfast pastries served in the dining room.
08:00 Enjoy riding on the rowing boat to the tunnel cave
09:00 Check-out of cabins. Enjoy relaxing, sunbathing on sundeck while our boat cruise back on different route.
10:45 Enjoy lunch Set Menu served in the dining room while enjoy the bay scenery as we approach the pier (passing Fight Cocks, Incense Burner, Stone Dog).
12:00 Transfer by tender to the pier, relax inside the pier building while waiting for return transportation.
12:20 Transfer back to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi approximately at 16:30.
18:00Transfer to the airport for the flight (VN1547 - 20:25 - 21:35) to Hue.

Day 9: Hue city tour (B, L)

The beautiful riverside pagoda of Thien Mu which now becomes the symbol of Hue, and the elaborate royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc are not to be missed. We include these in a guided cruise on the Perfume River which also gives us a taste of the scenic countryside as well as an enjoyable visit to the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang, in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes. After an impressive boat trip we return to the town. Sightseeing tour takes us in the massive citadel, containing the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City. This royal residence was all but destroyed during the 1968 Tet Offensive, however it is still fascinating to walk among the ruins and enjoy a walk to the bustling Dong Ba Market that sells a wide variety of local goods and handicrafts. Along the way we pass by many fantastic eating spots, ideal places for visitors to sample some local delicacies.

Day 10: Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An (B, L)

Heading out of the town, we drive south to Hoi An which was originally a Cham seaport but has been influenced down the centuries by a myriad of traders from various cultures. Along the way we can break the journey in Lang Co Beach for a leisurely swim and an enjoyable visit to a nearby fishing village. The winding road begins as we make our way up the spectacular Hai Van pass. A view from the top of the pass is one of Vietnam's most impressive panoramic scenes. The next stop of our trip is Da Nang which is famous for the Cham Museum. After seeing this sight we continue to the My Khe Beach and the Marble Mountain, whose peaks represent the five elements of the universe.

Day 11: Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh city (B)

Free time until time transferred to the airport for the ongoing flight to Ho Chi Minh city (VN 1315 - 14:55 - 16:05). Free at leisure at the hotel.

Day 12: Ho Chi Minh city tour (B, L)

At 08:30 am, you will be a picked up from your hotel. In the morning we visit:
The ReunificationPalace: This is one of the most important buildings in the city.
WarRemnantsMuseum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture.
After lunch at local restaurant we continue to visit:
Giac Lam Pagoda: This is HCMC's oldest pagoda, dating back to 1744 and one of the finest in Vietnam.
Cholon, including the Thien Hau Pagoda: Cholon actually means Big Market – a claim that is well justified as Vietnam 's largest market, the Binh Tay, is located here.
Ben Thanh Market: This bustling and well-organized market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dais. Back to hotel.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh city - Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai Temple (B, L)

08:00 am. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel. This morning you take a drive to Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh to observe the midday service. Following lunch we will drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels and then return to HCMC at approximately 18:00 pm.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh city - Cai Be - Tra On (B, L)

08:00 Pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city and transfer to Cai Be11:30 – 12:00 boarding LE COCHINCHINE boat. Enjoy welcome drink Transfer to a local boat for an extensive visit of Cai Be: the floating market, the mazes of waterway, local pop-rice and sweets production. Visit of colonial buildings, old houses, delightful flower gardens and local coconut candy and rice paper manufacturers. Le Cochinchine continues its cruise to Cochien. Lunch served on board Embark on a pleasant walk or cycle on the footpaths of the countryside to discover tropical fruit orchards and the local people's activities. Visit a cottage industry, a local farm and sample seasonal fruits Leisurely cruise on the Mekong River while taking in the beautiful scenery Enjoy an aperitif over the sunset. Dinner and night on board.

Day 15: Tra On - Can Tho - Chau Doc (B, L)

Breakfast on board The morning bobbling commotion of Mekong river life comes to life for another lovely day our boat set sails to Cantho through tributary and canals. Transfer to Cairang: one of the most bustling floating markets in Mekong. We go for a walk along the canals and the palm-shaded creek to see local houses and green orchards, ship building yards, rural and water activities in full swing. Boarding back at noon, with a welcome-back drink. 11:00 Disembark in Can Tho. The cruise concludes.Our driver will pick you up and transfer to Chau Doc. Drop you off at the hotel. Free at leisure and overnight in Chau Doc.

Day 16: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh (B, L) - by speedboat

07:00 Departure of speed boat to Phnom Penh. Arrival at Sisowath Squay International Port Phnom Penh (arrival time may vary due to current and immigration formalities). Upon arrival, you will be pick up to visit Cheung Ek to see the "Killing Fields" and Toul Sleng prison.
Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 17: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap (B, L) - by speedboat

After breakfat, early morning transfer to pier for departure to Siem Reap by boat. Simple lunch on boat. Transfer to hotel for short relax. Afternoon, visit to BarrayLake then view sunset at Pnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 18: Siem Reap (B, L)

Early morning, view sunrise at Angkor Wat. Transfer to hotel for breakfast. The same morning visit South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at local restaurant, short relax at hotel. Afternoon, visit Grand Circuit including Pre Rup, East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Pean, Preah Khan, Baksei Chamkrong and South Gate of Angkor Thom.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 19: Siem Reap - Departure (B)

Free and easy until our guide pick you up and drop you off the airport for the departure flight.
